Configure VPN in Kali Linux

By default , vpn is not configure in Kali Linux. If u want to connect vpn in kali linux , first install pptp and network openvpn in kali linux using apt-get install.

Open Network Manager – From the desktop click on the Network Manager icon in the top right hand corner, click on VPN Connections and Configure VPN. If you can’t see the Network Manager icon, you can open network manager by clicking on System > Preferences > Network Configuration and then click on the VPN tab.
Add VPN connection – When the VPN Connection window is displayed, click on Add to create the new connection.
Choose the connection type – Ensure the connection type is PPTP and click Create.
Enter VPN Account Details – For gateway enter “xx.justfreevpn.com” as the VPN server name. In the Connection name field, enter “xx.justfreevpn.com” as the new connection name. Enter VPN username and VPN password too.
Advanced Settings – Select both MSCHAP and MSCHAPv2 options. Check the box labeled Use Point to Point encryption (MPPE) and then click OK. Click OK again to save the VPN connection.
Connect to the VPN – Now start the VPN connection by clicking on the Network Manager Icon again, select VPN Connections and click on the new connection you have created.
You’re connected! – The Network Manager icon should now have a little padlock icon on it to indicate that the VPN is now connected.

Configure OpenVPN in Kali Linux Network Manager
This tutorial describes how to configure OpenVPN connection to SecurityKISS servers using Kali Linux Network Manager. The slideshow come from Kali linux (32bit. Gnome)installed with dualboot.
As a prerequisite you need to have root privileges and the configuration bundle you can download from SecurityKISS Client Area.
Step 1. Enable IP forwarding
Check whether IP forwarding is enabled in Linux:
root@kali:~# cat /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
It should return 0 or 1. If it is zero you need enable IP forwarding by:
root@kali:~# echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward
and
root@kali:~# gedit /etc/sysctl.conf
Edit the following line 26 and 27: net.ipv4.ip_forward = 1
from
# Uncomment the next line to enable packet forwarding for IPv4
‪#‎net‬.ipv4.ip_forward=1
to
# Uncomment the next line to enable packet forwarding for IPv4
net.ipv4.ip_forward=1
and save.
Step 2. Download SecurityKISS config files
Download the configuration bundle from Client area (use the download link you genereted in SecurityKISS Client Area).
Unzip the files.
View the README.txt file to find the list of SecurityKISS gateways.
Step 3. Configure OpenVPN connection
In the network connections find 'Configure VPN'
Select VPN tab
Add new VPN connection
Choose a OpenVPN connection type
Press Create
Enter connection name indicating server location, protocol and port. In the Gateway field enter one of the IP addresses from the list you found in README.txt. Authentication type should be 'Certificates (TLS)'.
Next click to select User Certificate.
Navigate to unzipped config files
Open client.crt file
Do the same for CA Certificate
But open ca.crt
And the same for Private Key
But open client.key
Select Advanced button
Tick 'Use LZO data compression' and 'Use custom gateway port' checkboxes. Enter port number according to the selected server from README.txt. If the server you selected from the list is marked as TCP you also need to tick 'Use a TCP connection' and click ok to save settings.
Mark Available to all users click to save.
Step 4. Test the tunneled connection
Connect from the VPN connections.
Go to network manager and click to VPN Connections and connect.
You can verify if your IP address has changed by opening their geolocation website: www.securitykiss.com/locate
